Dr. (Prof.) B B Chakraborty has over four decades of distinguished experience spanning industry and academia, he brings a rare blend of strategic insight, operational depth, and scholarly excellence. His corporate career includes senior leadership roles in global multinational organizations as well as advisory and consulting engagements with premier Indian and international institutions such as the United Nations, HSBC, ICICI Bank, Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Credit Suisse, Macmillan India, CDEP (IIM Calcutta), Government of India, Ministry of Defence (India), ONGC, SAIL, IOCL, and GAIL. His extensive exposure across public and private sectors has enabled him to contribute meaningfully to large-scale transformation initiatives, policy frameworks, and enterprise-level decision-making.
In addition to his corporate engagements, he has served as an Independent Director on the boards of several companies, providing governance oversight, strategic direction, and risk management expertise. His board-level experience reflects a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, corporate governance, and long-term value creation.
His academic career is equally distinguished. He has served as a Senior Professor at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and as Director of IIM Ranchi, along with teaching and leadership engagements at several other IIMs. Internationally, he has been associated with leading institutions including ESCP Business School (Paris), National University of Singapore, Bordeaux Business School, Reims Management School (France), CFVG Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), and the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, contributing to global management education and executive development programs.
He holds a PhD in Economics from Jadavpur University, an MBA (PGDM) from IIM Calcutta, where he was awarded the Gold Medal, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University, also with a Gold Medal. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI), underscoring his strong foundation in finance, economics, and strategic cost management.
Dr Arka Mukherjee
Founder & CEO, Global IDs Inc
Dr Arka Mukherjee is the Founder & CEO of Global IDs Inc, a data-management software company based in Princeton, New Jersey. Under his leadership, the company has developed software products for Enterprise Information Management (EIM), Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Governance, which are used by Fortune 500 companies across the globe.
Prior to starting Global IDs, Dr Mukherjee was a Principal at IBM in the Business Intelligence practice. He has also worked at several consulting firms like Accenture and KPMG.
Dr Mukherjee’s core intellectual focus is the development of software to understand complex data environments. To that end, he has created semi-autonomous software systems that can semantically integrate information from very large data landscapes.
Dr Mukherjee holds an M.Sc. in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He received his Ph.D. from Princeton University in Computational Chemistry, where he worked on the vibrational analysis of heme.
